Jedna z najładniejszych piosenek tego albumu, który ogólnie jest jednym z bardziej udanych w dyskografii Waitsa. Może jedną z nielicznych słabych stron płyty Bone Machine jest szkaradna okładka, ale to moja i tylko moja subiektywna ocena (poza tym rozumiem że to już taka stylistyka celowej szkaradności).

Sądziłem że to pomyłka w tekście, gdyż sformułowanie oko za oko kojarzy mi się raczej z kodeksem Hammurabiego, ale zawarte jest też w ST (exodus) :

„Jeżeli zaś poniesie dalszą szkodę, to wtedy da życie za życie, oko za oko, ząb za ząb, rękę za rękę, nogę za nogę, oparzelinę za oparzelinę, ranę za ranę, siniec za siniec" (Księga Wyjścia 21, 23 - 25).
"Jeżeli kto okaleczy swego bliźniego. uczyni mu się tak, jak sam uczynił. Złamanie za złamanie, oko za oko, ząb za ząb. Jak okaleczył człowieka, tak mu będzie oddane" (Księga Kapłańska 24, 19 - 20).
